Celebrating the Life of Rembrandt

To fulfill our mission to create a Cultural Platform for Aruban society, where the Arts can be

experienced, we have set a goal of creating na event for the Aruban youth, the local

community and tourists.

“Ode aan Rembrandt” is an event that will combine film, music and theatrical performance.

The goal is to develop a one of a kind, educational and entertaining environment where the

youth and the community can come and enjoy the legend of Rembrandt with performances

from local artists.

Inspired by the legendary Dutch Artist Rembrandt van Rijn who lived in a special historic

time in the seventeenth century better known as the Dutch Golden Age. The Center has

decided to celebrate Rembrandt because in 2019 it will be 350 years of his passing. We at the

Center would like to honor the Titan of the Dutch Golden Age.

The event will happen at Cas di Cultura in the Month of November.

This type of educational Arts event is something that hasn't been done on the island before.

The event will not only bring motivation to be active in the arts, but it will also help the

Aruban society to better understand Arts and Culture. In the global era of today’s society

Culture plays a significant role. Culture gives strength to a nation and contributes to the

construction of it´s identity. It is trough Culture that people connect to each other and develop

their creativity. It is a powerful tool for social cohesion and provides unity, a society´s

cornerstone.

Public from all ages, locals and tourists, are invited to attend to enjoy a staged experience to

commemorate the extraordinary artistic legacy of Rembrandt van Rijn.

The goal is not only to provide an entertaining event, but to provide a new educational

experience to promote Arts and Culture locally.
